Testing testing one two three...

I'm testing a couple of different Twitter gadgets. At the moment on the right hand column you'll see mine listed as "Jeanne's Tweets" and my miracle puppy's, Miss Sydney's listed as "Sydney's Tweets". My goal, to eliminate the conflicts I've run into... I love figuring things out!

Edit 12:06 a.m. 7/13/09 the jury is still out on Sydney's incorporation of Twiiter into this blog... the gadget is working appropriately, but I'm not sure the design suits me. Yes, indeedy... I'm picky when it comes to my miracle puppy!

My vision for my Twitter...

It's an exciting and great way to use my day to day real life stuff to focus my thoughts upwards... in a positive way. Love the challenge of keeping it to 140 characters. For anyone who has known me any length of time, that's a toughy! It also forces me to think more creatively... and choose my words more precisely with a flavor of humor tossed in!

All one has to do if you've never ever tweeted... is to take a few secs to set up an account. It's easy as pie! There are no junkie apps or anything. It's simple and sweet! Create a unique i.d./user name, and there you go. That is all there is to it! You can tweet over the net, or via your phone! What a free package deal!

Written left handed on my white board -- prayer list -- project board. For any of you who may be reading my blog for the first time -- I'm right handed. Labels links will tell you my reason for writing left handed on my white board... this is NOT about me... it's about the Springers in need...

The story in the link above will be updated soon to show that 85 to 100 Springers are being confiscated and given into the care of the English Springer Rescue America group at this very moment. They'll be vetted, altered, and immunized prior to going into foster care next week. It'll be the beginning of a whole new life for them... well, actually a life... because in a puppy mill there is NO real life for these precious dogs.

The editor of our local paper here agreed to print my first ever Letter to the Editor in this past Sunday's, February 22nd, 2009 edition of the Richmond County Daily Journal. Not enough words to thank the gentlemen for helping me get the word out in our community regarding Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders. The need for ongoing and innovative research is the only way to find a cure. (Cure is also an acronym of a wonderful organization by the name of "Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy").

By publishing my letter, he's inspired me to come out from behind my Blogger Identity "ppcjeanne" and use my real name in my profile. Even though I've blog readers in our community that know me, it's still a huge step for me. Admittedly, a challenge since starting this blog, but no longer. It's behind me now. Feels liberating, actually.

I believe with all of my heart that God wants me to walk by faith... trust Him... NOT help Him... simply allow Him to direct my path in bringing attention to Epilepsy and Seizure disorders. as well as to a few other causes I believe in deeply. He's showing me daily, if I just give each day to Him, right off the bat... get His word into me... He'll take care of the rest. And, He is... in amazing and remarkable ways.

Epilepsy Needs More Coverage

I read both last Sunday’s, Feb. 15 Parade Magazine’s insert cover/feature story as well as the story the Daily Journal ran from the Fayetteville Observer, located in Cumberland County. It’s entitled “Fayetteville family learns to cope with son’s seizure disorder.”

Will end with a few pics of me putting faces on both Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders as well as English Springer Rescue America. One of my other causes and passions. The photos were taken by my pilot (whom of course is my husband, Steve to those who know us) and my rescue miracle Springer puppy, the adorable Miss Sydney.

Dad's getting a wee bit better, thankfully. Sydney says she doesn't care that her feet are missing in some of his shots -- they're way too big for a little girl as it is. ;)

P.S. Confession time... You'll notice that I sneaked a few of my shots in, too -- I couldn't help it!

Oh! And if you think Sydney seems to be larger in some of the photos, she is. They were taken over a period of a few days and she gets bigger and bigger every day. This week, she's all of a sudden the size of a baby calf!

Sydney's dad is getting a little better in the picture taking department... only two missing feet this time around...

I can't wait to see my niece in PA!

I just sent this email to my niece... it's too funny not to post! She takes excellent photos, thank the Lord! While my pilot knocks out the all important second FAA required check flight for him to obtain his Powered Parachute Sport Licensing... during our visit there, I can finally have a few decent pictures taken of me with Sydney, and Chance, too!

My puppy is growing like a weed and your uncle, for the life of him, can't take a decent photo of me! I have no idea what the deal is. I've taken precious shots of him with Sydney, when she was still tiny, and as she's grown the past two weeks. Forever keepsakes! But, I give him the camera so her momma can have a few pics with her baby dog, too. What do I get? Headless photos, hair blowing straight up -- no mention to me that it needed fixing. One adorable shot, totally blurry -- totally! And, the sad thing is that my camera has a fantastic image stabilization feature. Even jostling in the powered parachute, it works great! We tried again yesterday after church. The pics he took are simply horrible. Seriously, I almost cried. Two weeks ago I could hold her in one hand. Yesterday, she's literally hanging under my arm with her feet touching my waste. Thank God I'm coming to see you so you can take a few pics with my camera. I fear in two weeks my little baby dog will be an adult and my window of photo ops will be over!

In case you can't tell in the above photo, Sydney and I are both in black and white. I'm the one with half a head and missing a hand -- she's the one NOT looking at the camera! It's easy to tell, I did not take the photo!

My Sydney... my miracle puppy!

Sydney is mine all mine!!!

Sydney was found by a good Samaritan on July 16, 2008 on the side of a road along with her sibling in Atlanta. She was in horrible condition -- covered in flies, fly eggs, fly bites and had sores on her body. (If you look closely, you can see a few spots that are still in the midst of healing or that the fur hasn't come back yet.) There was evidence that her tail had been rubber banded and it was nearly necrotic. Meaning the tissue was nearly dead. She weighed only 1.4 pounds. Fortunately, the good Samaritan took her to a wonderful vet that pulled her through, but sadly her little sibling didn't make it. The vet estimated her birthday to be June 27th, which means she was only 3 weeks old when she was tossed away. That's unimaginable to me. What's even more unimaginable is that it very well could have been a "bad" breeder who discarded Sydney and her sibling in such a heartless manner. It breaks my heart that animals are treated so terribly. It breaks my heart that her little sibling was lost forever. But, I rejoice that ESRA, the English Springer Rescue of America organization was contacted on Sydney's behalf and she soon came under their care and was placed into a loving foster home. Through volunteer members' compassionate efforts and commitments of help and assistance ESRA has successfully placed thousands of Springers in loving homes.

I applied for consideration to adopt Sydney. I'm thrilled to say she became mine! My pilot and I were approved to be her forever home. This past Saturday we round tripped it to Atlanta to pick her up and bring her here to her new home.



She is amazing! She is happy! Her spirit is strong! Her will is incredible! For those things I already love and respect her. And, she is only an 8 1/2 week old puppy.

I know without a doubt, that God chose her to be mine. Needless to say, there will be many more photos posted of her as time goes on.
